Our Island

Nidulari could not exist without the support of our wonderful community. St Croix is a small island with many fabulous people and creative businesses who strive to keep our island a pleasing and plentiful place both to live and to visit, despite the many hurdles inherent to island life. One of my favourite things about St Croix, and particularly the West End, is how supportive everyone is of each other. Below are links to some other things to do and places to go around our unique historic town of Frederiksted and the West End.

Mahogany Road Chocolate:
My mom, Mandy Thody’s, latest venture, hand-made bean-to-bar artisanal chocolate!

Freedom City Surf / Teres Veho:
An awesome, friendly, laid-back beach bar/restaurant and paddle-board shop, just a mile down the road from Nidulari. Live music most Saturday nights!

Tap Deck Bar & Billiards:
One of our newest businesses in Frederiksted, located in a historic downtown waterfront building. My favourite place for a good cocktail and/or a game of pool – plus they have A/C and really good cheeses!

Lyric Sails:
Gorgeous sunset sails along the West coast of St Croix with live music and great food!

Adventures in Diving STX:
Owned by great people (who love Nidulari’s cinnamon rolls!), Dive STX is located on King Street in Frederiksted and can cover all your diving needs!

Polly’s on the Pier:
Chris, Chuck, and their awesome staff can definitely feed you a good lunch or brunch on the days that Nidulari is closed! They make great waffles if you get there early enough, and have a good selection of vegan items!

Ham’s Bluff Lighthouse:
A short but fairly steep hike to the North-West corner of St Croix, where there’s a historic lighthouse along with its modern replacement. Amazing views of both the North and West coasts.

Mt Victory Camps:
Just a few miles up the road from Nidulari, this is a great place to stay if you’re a little adventurous and love the outdoors! Matt and Carmen also teach survival skills, natural crafts and more.

Cottages By The Sea:
A lovely collection of seaside units perfect for vacationers of all ages, just steps from one of the best swimming beaches on the island, with a view of Sandy Point Nature Reserve.

Caribbean Breeze Vacation Rentals:
Kathy and Randy have restored a historic downtown building into lovely short-term rental units, perfect for a vacation or while you transition to the island!

Cruzan Cowgirls:
Our local horse rescue who fund their operation by taking guests on rides through the rainforest and along the beach! Jennifer works hard rehabilitating injured and abandoned horses, and working with the community to keep owned horses safe and healthy. You can help by going on a trail ride and/or making a donation!

The Frederiksted Pier:
Our biggest non-historical landmark, the cruise ship pier, happens to be one of the best snorkeling and diving spots on the island! Or just have fun walking the pier and watching the turtles, or pier jumping. Be sure to look for the large tarpon and the hawksbill turtles who hang out under the pier.
